We have been busy this week with Summer Camps and lots of our dancers taking part at Petersfield festival. Plus, we had our Tap and Modern results in too…

SUMMER CAMP
We have had 3 very successful days of Camp so far and have loved seeing so many faces having fun! Bishops Waltham Junior School have been so welcoming and the venue seems to have been a hit with parents too! It has been so nice to see a wide range of ages attend as the older ones love to help and the little ones love to look up to the bigger ones!
We have a Camp running next week and a further 3 later in August so do feel free to book on and see what we get up to! It’s not all dance, though; we play games, we do arts and crafts and we love to keep the children active and inspire their creative side!

Our Senior classes kick off next week with the first one being COMMERCIAL on Monday! These classes are open to anyone age 11 plus and can be booked on the link above. A great way to keep in shape, see friends from dance and try out a different type of class!

EXAMS
We received our ISTD Tap and Modern exam results this week and they are absolutely fabulous! I have been blown away by the standard of marks and I feel I need to send a special mention to our Intermediate girls for all gaining distinctions! The exams are tough and they have made all the teachers so very proud. Our top mark of the day went to Josie with 92 for Inter Modern! This was closely followed by Melissa with 90 for both her Inter Tap and Modern which she took on the same day!

FESTIVALS
Our festival team have been flying high this week at Petersfield festival. They have been representing the school brilliantly and we are very proud of all the medals they are achieving! Lots of hours of hard work goes into each and every dance and it is a huge group effort from students, parents and Roynon teachers. I would like to send a special mention to Miss Lucy for overseeing the festival side of the school, I’m not one to pass things to others but I only have so many hours in the day and I know it is all in very safe hands. Her wealth of knowledge and enthusiasm is unfaltering! There is some truly great choreography from all the teachers, so huge well done to all!

Next week is quieter for us but don’t forget if you need an hour or 2 to work or chill, we have a camp on Friday…

I am also working hard on timetable adjustments for the clashes on Saturday so please bare with and maybe do keep in mind there might be a few tweaks to Saturday times but nothing too drastic.

We are excited to announce that we will be running a brand new Elite programme!

The Elite workshops will run once a month and will offer something very special and a little different! Not only will we have Roynon teachers on hand, we will also have guest teachers such as West End performers too!  

Whole School Performance at the Berry Theatre 25th-26th June

Roynon are thrilled and excited about the recent, notable progress made by its music students!

There are lots of achievements to be proud of… For example, Sam Cutter, a private acoustic guitar pupil, has achieved a distinction mark in Rock School Grade 2 (93% – 74 out of 80). A thorough Well Done Sam on your amazing result – very well deserved…

Meanwhile, other significant milestones have been made. Miss Victoria, who runs singing and musical theatre, is working through Grade 7 in LCM with aspiring, talented young vocalist Meriel. The sister company Swan Samba is also growing in membership and the complexity of its technical content within its original samba fusion songs. The gigging calendar is also hotting up, with a wider spread of events, including charity fundraisers and large-scale ticketed shows (m.

Roynon’s core aim is all about supporting the development of its students and nurturing ‘triple threat’ skills. Roynon started as a dance school and has grown significantly in recent years in order to accommodate this industry requirement, where performers are expected to be equally secure in dance, music and theatre.

All in all, we couldn’t be prouder of our growing music faculty and their recent accomplishments.

WELLBEING

As a result of all this madness, Roynon Performing Arts are extremely proud of what has been achieved, all the while dealing with so many unique, unparalleled challenges.

On 11th August 2020, hundreds of venues up and down the country drenched their buildings, stages and social media in red visuals and lighting, in a plea for help and highlight the issues they are facing due to the coronavirus fallout.
